Research Assistant
Deirdre Winrow joined the Molecular Parasitology Laboratory (MPL) in 2024 as a Research Assistant. She received a BSc in Organic Chemistry and Biology from Northeastern University, USA and a research MSc in Cancer Biology from the University of Galway, focusing on resistance mechanisms in pancreatic and triple-negative breast cancers. Prior to working with the MPL, Deirdre worked on a variety of cancer-focused clinical diagnostic and drug development projects in DCU, UCD, and the University of Galway. Her current focus is investigating the immunomodulatory effects of helminth defence molecules derived from Schistosoma mansoni.
