The course does a really good job of grounding you initially with tools and ways of thinking that you use throughout the course, all the way up until your final year project. I really enjoyed the group work projects that give you a great opportunity to engage with others and collaborate in delivering a software prototype. In final year, we had an artificial intelligence module which I thoroughly enjoyed, and it sparked me to investigate pursuing a master’s in artificial intelligence.

What I enjoyed most about Computer Science at the University of Galway was the broad and genuinely interesting range of topics it covered. I particularly enjoyed the balance between practical, industry-focused skills and the more academic side of Computer Science. The lecturers and tutors were extremely helpful and approachable, and the third-year internship was a brilliant part of the course that genuinely helped kickstart my career.
